I’m not entirely sure!

I think the love came from the fear of them originally, a way to make something frightening into a friend.

As a child I was convinced there were monsters under my bed, I saw creatures that I’d seen in movies pop out from behind lampshades, or peep through the cracks in doors. I really thought that they were real!

I think also it has something to do with always feeling like the odd one out. School for the majority of my childhood was unpleasant, bullying was not only from my peers but occasionally teachers too.

I’m just a silly weirdo to my core, and as I grew older, the more comfortable I was with embracing it!
