What Is The Monster Appreciation Society?

I came up with the idea of the society first and foremost, for fun! I have always loved monsters, so the year it was established is my birth year.

I want fellow monster lovers to feel like they are part of something that accepts their enjoyment of the strange and the silly. Who knows, it may grow into something more in future…

Why Monsters?

Monsters have always had a special place in my heart. I was bullied for years at school and I grew up feeling strange, and didn't understand people or why they were so unkind. Bullying was not only from my peers, but occasionally teachers. I felt like the odd one out, and these monsters help me express these feelings. 

The monsters are totally at ease with their strangeness and their silliness. Something that has taken decades for me to achieve for myself.

I’m just a silly weirdo at my core, and as I grow older, the more comfortable I am with embracing it!
